Mid-Plains Center is proud to offer the only Crisis Stabilization Unit (CSU) in Nebraska. The CSU provides a safe, structured environment for mental health stabilization and/or medically assisted detoxification. This facility is open 24 hours per day, 7 days a week, with 6 detoxification beds and 6 mental health beds. Youth and adult risk assessment and triage is available 24/7.
General Admission Criteria:
Medically stable.
19 years of age or older.
Not actively suicidal.
Willingness to ensure safety of self and others.
Willingness to be admitted.
Willingness to participate in daily programming.
Willingness to complete own activities of daily living.
Detoxification Admission Criteria:
Blood alcohol content of .350 or below.
No Opiate use.
No Benzodiazepine abuse.
Mental Health Admission Criteria:
Past history of substance abuse.
Current crisis or past diagnosis of a mental illness.
History of taking mental health medications.
Current or past mental health board commitment.
Relapse after a period of sobriety.
Unable to maintain sobriety.
Resident of a halfway house or group home.
The Crisis Stabilization Unit Provides Staff To:
Conduct daily assessments (by medical personnel).
Provide assistance to connect with community resources.
Conduct group and individual therapy sessions.
Ensure a safe and structured environment, with a short term stay of approximately 3 to 5 days, to allow for stabilization.
Provide consumer advocacy and peer support.

Current medications and medication list.
